Honoring and Remembering
Fishing for Freedom is one of the ways we remember the service and honor the sacrifices of our wounded warriors and Gold Star families; Families that lost a father, son, daughter or spouse in the performance of their duty to our country.
Location
This all Day Event (8:30am-4:30pm) will be held at the VFW Post 7402 in Buchanan, GA and
is co-sponsored with them. It is a monitored entrance and there is NO CHARGE for participants of the F4F event. The VFW has a very nice 165-acre lake that offers a beach and some great fishing opportunities. We will provide fishing rods & reels, bait and tackle for bank fishing and volunteers with boats to take out those who want to explore fishing opportunities on the lake.
Lunch
A fully prepared lunch will be served. Water and soft drinks will be available all day. We
reserved pavilions with tables and benches. Portable chairs could be brought for sittng
around the lake and bank fishing. If weather presents problems, indoor accommodation is
available. There will be no cancellation or re-scheduling.
Free Event
This event is free to all personnel signed-up for this event. There is a maximum of four(4) members from each family represented and must be immediate family. Everyone in attendance is required to sign a waiver of liability and is expected to conduct themselves in a respectful and responsible manner. No alcoholic beverages are allowed at this event and no weapons are allowed. Law enforcement and EMT personnel will be on the premises.
Registration
Registration is required and available for the first 125 people that sign-up. It will be on a
